The facebook event
This is a free event playing darker electronic dance music. Ranging over multiple decades and genres. Four DJs, 4000 watts of speakers and subs, lasers and lights.
Music starts at 4pm until late. Chill music until night at 9pm, then we'll ramp it up when the lasers come on. Come and stare into the void with us!
This is a get together of friends of friends on private land. We're happy for anyone to be invited, but probably personally invite people, not put on public groups.
It’ll be at our paddock near Black River (the river, not the town). Check the maps below.
There’s plenty of camping on site.
It's SNAKE SEASON, so be aware.
Donations welcome if you want to help pay for the gear. You'll get some 'freemium' perks, like using our bbq, water, power for charging etc. *edit* We got one! If enough people want to donate up front, we could hire a real toilet!
It would help if you're coming to click the RSVP thing on the facebook event, so we can organise better.
What to bring
Water. There's a river and creek near by which 'should' be clean, but don't quote me and it's summer, so it's not really flowing a lot.
Mozzie spray
Seat for relaxing
Decent shoes for going on nice walks!
Ear plugs if you want FULL SUBS. We'll have a tub of ear plugs there though.
Torch when it gets dark.
Stuff for rain, it'll power ahead regardless!
Other notes
It’s a gravel road, but fine for normal cars if you take it easy.
If you come after dusk, don't go over 50 on the gravel! The wallabies here are complete mad lads. They'll hide, then jump out at the last second. Probably making TikToks or something.
Check the fire ban status. Probably wise to bring a little gas cooker if you want.
There is a TINY bit of phone reception up the other end of the paddock
There's plenty of room for cars directly on site.
We'll have med kits and epipens.
How you can help
Contact me on the facebook event (or at octamed@gmail.com)
If you have those pop up sunshade/marquee things. It'd be handy if it rains.
*edit* We got one! Do you have a portaloo we could hire? There's a few around which we'll look into but any advice would be good.
Maps
If you're coming from the east, you can cut off 20 minutes by taking the gravel road. It's not great but normal cars are fine. Just slow down for some corrugations and watch for trucks and traffic. If you're coming after dusk slow to MAX 50kph! You might have to force google maps to take you down that road, as it tends to avoid gravel.
Watch out for the giant Lego man on a giant motorbike! Go down the next turn off. The one after that will be the gravel road, which has a 'Newhaven rd' sign.
Turn off is at the metal stock yards. Gates will be open
